When did these go "out?"

I was cleaning my bathroom drawer the other day and came across this gem.

I used to use it ALL the time. Come to think of it, so did everyone and their brother. (OK, most brothers didn't...)

So, when did hair clips go "out?"

    I still use mine when I was my face and stuff! The only problem I had with them was my hair was always way too thick to get up all the way so I just always resorted to clipping back part of my hair.

    I bet if you keep it, it will be back in style in 5 years or so!

    What?! Hair clips are out?! How come nobody told me?! I'm always one step behind...

    Does this mean I have to give up my banana clips, too???
