Offensive or just practical?

I was listening to the radio on the way into work the other day. The question of the day? Do you think it is OK if your significant other wears jewelry given to them by an ex?

I was surprised to hear one of the DJs and many callers say that they would feel 100 percent offended. To me, it's just not that big of a deal. (Unless it's like an engagement/wedding ring or something and holds a lot of meaning...) If you like the jewelry, why not keep wearing it? It's just a thing, right?

Have you ever wondered just how old some of the gum is that you pass on the sidewalk? Exactly how long ago did some lazy, disrespectful joe spit it out of his mouth and onto the general walking path?

Six months? A year? Longer? Ew.

Thanks to my coworker, F, I will now always ponder this question.
