OH. MY. GOSH. Wow! I am so excited for the Jamie Farr Classic this week. Not only is the event bringing in the World Class Rockers (?), they are also bringing in uber-celebs Christine Brennan, Mike Farrell and, wait for it, Shelley Fabares! Can you believe it? Such big Hollywood names right here in T-Town!Now, I don’t mean to sound ungrateful, but does anyone know who these people actually are? (I must say, I did know good ‘ol Shelley from her "Coach" days…) I’m sure Christine, Mike and Shelley are all very wonderful at their respective crafts, but come on, don’t we deserve a little more? How long should the title “celebrity” really stick with people? Why not pool all the event cash together to bring in someone who has actually sang, acted, danced, written, rallied, lobbied, etc., in/for something at least within the last decade?
The Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic is this town's pride and joy. Why not hit a hole-in-one? (Sorry, I had to...)
If you could bring in one “celebrity” to an event, who would it be? Off of the A list? Off of the D list?

I also agree with the "celebrity" title that so many individuals have as a label even after 10 years have gone by and they haven't done jack.
In regards to the people they choose, maybe it is a difference in age thing. Maybe when we are older we will like the gang of Saved by the Bell to come to some kind of fundraising event?!?! Who knows? :-)
Oooh... Can you imagine if Johnny Depp came here?!!! Holy crap... Anyway, good point on the age thing Jenn. It would seem, though, that at some point they are going to have to get the next generation involved.
Yes, I agree with all of the previous comments. However, quite honestly, celebs are not necessary at an event like this. Going to this is just fun. period. You don't even have to like golf, it's just nice to hang out, walk around, maybe get on tv. If anyone goes to see celebs, they're sad.
Oh, and please bring David Letterman.
So true, Michelle. Even in light of the "celebrity" guests, I'm pretty excited to go to the bash tonight.
