Pet Peeve

I know I’ve probably mentioned this before, however, due to situational circumstances that have transpired today, I thought I’d reiterate my stance.

I absolutely HATE when people think you’re overstressed (when, in fact, you aren’t AT ALL) and then go on to tell you to “take deep breaths” or “relax.” Even worse, it usually happens with someone who doesn’t remotely know you.

Er. You’ll know when I’m stressed.

I totally relate.

This is a regular conversation between my Mom and I.

Mom: You're stressed, I can tell.
Me: No, I'm not.
Mom: Yes, you are.
Me: (annoyed) No. I am not.
Mom: K., are you taking care of yourself? You don't sound good, you sound irritated and stressed.
Me: I TOLD YOU I AM FINE.
silence
Mom: ...yeah, you sound "fine."
Me: (hand thrown up in the air) You're right. I'm stressed.
