Offensive or just practical?

I was listening to the radio on the way into work the other day. The question of the day? Do you think it is OK if your significant other wears jewelry given to them by an ex?

I was surprised to hear one of the DJs and many callers say that they would feel 100 percent offended. To me, it's just not that big of a deal. (Unless it's like an engagement/wedding ring or something and holds a lot of meaning...) If you like the jewelry, why not keep wearing it? It's just a thing, right?
What do you think?

Actually, I bought D a new wallet for valentine's day just so he would get rid of his old one, which was a gift from his ex. (Plus the one I got him was a lot nicer - it was a Tumi.) I'm trying to make him get rid of all the stuff she bought him. I don't know why it bothers me, but it does. Like I don't want him to be thinking about her every time he wears his tie clip.

I don't know. I am not a jewelry person first off. And I was never in a serious relationship before Terry so I don't have jewelry and T. isn't a jewelry kind of man so he has nothing so I never thought of it before.

So I really don't know how I would feel. Probably b/c I don't wear much jewelry anyways, I wouldn't choose something from an ex to wear over something my husband gave me, but I wouldn't just throw it away either.
