Do you know about Net Neutrality?

I had never heard about it until I stumbled across a video today... Apparently, huge telecoms and cable companies are trying to control the Internet and charge more for certain sites. The organization's (www.wearetheweb.org) message is simple. The internet should be free and open to everyone.

Check out the video here.
(It's a little out there but definitely informative and entertaining.)

I have heard of this and I'm completely against it.

I do respect what the internet has done to businesses likes newspapers, the post office, etc.

However - it should be free. We are already paying hefty costs just for internet access. To be charged additional costs for random sites is ridiculous. Very "nickel-and-dime" in nature.

Also, I see a great divide occuring between the "haves" and "have nots" if individuals are forced to pay for particular internet access.

I could go on and on about this...

I actually just wrote my respective congressmen and senetors about this.

If I can find the website where you can email them, i'll post it.

companies should not have to pay more to have better access and all that crap. the people it will hurt the most are not-for-profit organizations and charities!
